Native American and Women Owned Business: My Totem Tribe - Our Humble Beginnings: We turned to totem animals to teach our children empathy: identifying and celebrating the unique character traits and talents of every individual. Totem art was a fun way for them to celebrate their Native heritage as well and they began to sell handmade totem jewelry at the market. We discovered that most people did not have the words to express their identity and desperately wanted to find their place in life and decided we wanted to connect everyone to their story through My Totem Tribe. A portion of proceeds goes to donative totems to foster children. We hope that through discovering their totem, children can learn to appreciate their place in this world. We all matter.
